Who Are We?

Hi my name is Sam Smerdon, I am a Dartmoor lad born and bred, I grew up in the Postbridge area of Dartmoor, I have always loved the outdoors and have never wanted to do anything other than work outdoors. Growing up I was fortunate enough to have access to many farms though family and friends and always enjoyed the machinery and with my Father Gerald being a dry stone waller and hedge laying guru, boundary solutions has always been in my blood. 

Leaving school i decided to go down to route of outdoor education which allowed me to work on the moors and be outside, after 12 years i decided to make a career change and go back to my roots and become a farm hand, in the three years i spent working on a farm up on the moors i learnt the importance of a good boundary, to not only keep your own livestock in but more importantly to keep others livestock out! I enjoyed pretty much all aspects of farming but the days I really looked forward to was when I would be doing some fencing so when a job opportunity came up with a local fencing contractor I decided to go for it and over the next three years my passion for the industry grew and grew and I was fortunate to learn from people who between them had over 60 years experience, we covered pretty much all aspects of domestic and agricultural fencing and after three years, my business partner Matt and myself decided to take the plunge and go out on our own and we have never looked back!
